We leave Ruggie at the nursery at our church as we attend Sunday school, and usually it's a bit of a whine-fest until he spots a truck or ball he wants to play with and then he'll turn his back on us, wave and say, "Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye!" That is, of course, unless "that lady" is there....this one nursery worker who Ruggie just does NOT like. I don't think there is any real reason he isn't taken with her, but if she is in the vicinity, the whine-fest turns into an all-out grab-the-neck-and-hold-on-tight fest. Anyway, crazy nursery lady aside, this past week after Sunday school when we went to retrieve our Ruggie, the nursery worker told us, "He is a little escape artist!" Evidently, when another child was being retrieved, Ruggie aimed for the door and ran out and had to be chased down....I like to envision helicopters chasing him with spotlights as he is hightailing it down the hall! Also, while on a buggy ride, he took off his seatbelt and simply walked off the buggy and away from the group and again had to be retrieved. Oy, this is not good. If he was in prison, escape would be good, but not in nursery school! Also, as a sidenote, he has started saying Mickey (Mickey's Clubhouse) and Tia (for tortilla....one of his FAVORITE foods, although don't dare buy him tortillas from the grocery store or he will spit them out. He only likes fresh, homemade ones).
Ruggie and Beets are all ready for Halloween this week....Beets is going to be a pink kitty cat and Ruggie will either be Tigger or Pooh....there were slim pickings at Toys R Us and although I am leaning towards Tigger, the Pooh costume fits him much better. Pics to come....
