Giggles

You know how in school you would get a case of the giggles at the most inappropriate times and those giggles became almost impossible to stifle? The teacher would be lecturing the class sternly about paying attention and respecting him/her while a huge booger was hanging from his/her nose and, boom, the giggles would start low in your stomach and would get more and more intense as you tried to stifle them until your whole body was in shakes and tears were rolling down your face? That type of maniacal giggling happens less and less frequently as the years go by and you begin to live real lives with boring 8 to 5 jobs, bills that never stop coming in the mail and bosses that have no qualms telling you maybe it would be good if you came in the day after Thanksgiving to work; HOWEVER, the giggles start to come back once you have children and they come in a torrent.

Case in point: Ruggie got in trouble today while we were having dinner....we had let him and Beets down from their high chairs because they were driving me and Mr. Tuna nuts because we could not even have a semi-decent conversation with them yelling and screaming and crying. So, they started running back and forth from high chair to high chair trying to close the clasps and fighting with each other in doing so. We finally had to put Rug in time out and he yelled up a storm! He started throwing himself against the back of the couch and then he got on his back like a turtle and started thrusting his feet straight up and down like a jackhammer, still bawling. I took one look at Mr. Tuna over the rim of my pasta dish and I almost spit out everything in my mouth I wanted to laugh so hard. We had to keep straight faces and it was killing us because we were in the middle of trying to discipline him....then when the timer rang to show his time-out was over, he did this little triumphant face and then proceeded to fall right off the couch. It was like watching our own version of America's Funniest Videos live in our living room. We had to keep straight faces and it was so hilarious!

Anyway, thanks for making us laugh tonight, Ruggie....you and your sister can drive us so nuts but you are the greatest, most adorable, most opinionated, most hilarious, most beautiful, mos wonderful kids we could have ever dreamed of!
